⭐️HUUUUUGGGGEEE NEWS ⭐️

Yesterday marked a massive milestone for the Yarrambat Junior Football Club & Plenty Valley Cricket Club, as we have secured over 💲9️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, 0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ to support the redevelopment of our away rooms! 🙌🏼

This facility, when completed, will house both home & away teams on game day.
We still need to secure the remaining funds for the build, so we’ll be working with the Nillumbik Council to gain the support required. In time, we will also be reaching out to our generous YJFC members & the broader local community to support this project.

Special thanks to the Federal Labour Government & Rob Mitchell MP – Federal Labor Member for McEwen who approved this funding via the Thriving Suburbs program.

We would also like to acknowledge Rebecca Burton & the entire Recreation and Leisure Team at Nillumbik Council, who have led the grant approval process in partnership with footy & cricket clubs. This application was backed by Carl Cowie, Nillumbik Council CEO & John Dumaresq, Nilkumbik Council Mayor who both showed their support for the project in person at the announcement.

There are too many YJFC people to acknowledge in this post, but I’d like to say a massive thanks to all previous & current executive committees who have worked tirelessly to move this project forward for our community. Special mention goes to Dave Marasco, Dan O’Donnell, Craig Barnes & Waz Casey, who have lobbied all levels of government over their time at the club. We acknowledge the TEAM effort that has driven the project to this point.

We are ambitious about creating improved facilities for our players & all members, and we look forward to sharing our plans in due course.

Cheers,
Drakey & the YJFC Executive
